Shinbujutsukan USA

The place of True Martial Arts

Welcome to Shinbujutsukan USA!!! This site is devoted to helping those truly interested in furthering their knowledge of the martial arts, from a contemporary, practical and traditional standpoint. The term "Shinbujutsukan" is a Japanese term that refers to the place for truthful and honest study of the fighting arts. This includes not just one facet of martial arts but instead delves into the tried and true combat techniques found in Karate, Kobudo, and Jiu jitsu. Another main focus of Shinbujutsukan is the study of "Ti". Ti is the dynamic power system and martial wizdom behind Karate and Kobudo. Without Ti, karate and kobudo is not much different from Kung Fu. In fact, Ti was mixed with Kung Fu which was being poplularly introduced to Okinawa several hundred years ago. This infusion blazed the path for the traditional Karate you are familiar with today. At Shinbujutsukan, we not only practice this waza for the sake of the traditions past to us but to extract and apply the fighting concepts developed by these warriors throughout time. These concepts are as useful today as they were then. It is up to us to train, learn and experience these truths for ourselves for the protection and betterment of our lives.

Unfortunately, with the popularization of sport martial arts and the "McDojo", the essence of self protection is being lost from Karate and Kobudo. It is the purpose of the Shinbujutsukan to investigate, educate, re-infuse and re-introduce the concepts that gives the arts their true power.

The information on this site will be used primarily to advance our self defense skills through the study of Karate & Jiu jitsu. It is also important to observe and preserve the culture passed to us from our forefathers from the Okinawan Martial Arts. It is my intent and my duty to provide the most in-depth, comprehensive and genuine form of martial arts possible for my students and the rest of the world.
